You’ve got a Facebook profile or a shiny new Facebook business page! Now what?
Facebook has provided a very robust set of tools in this area, but when setting up your page they only guide you through the basics. Here are a few tips on getting the most out of your Facebook profile.
- Make sure there is a wealth of information about your business in the “About” section. This includes your address, the city you are located in, your hours, your phone number, email, website.
- The “About” line and “Description” section of your Facebook profile are hugely important. A single line that says “We build amazing websites,” is fine for the “about” line, but doesn’t help a customer decide to work with you. You want to describe your business a little bit and show off your great skills and make sure this lives in the “Description” section. Try something like, “The Broad Street Network is a team of WordPress professionals who can help you Plan a business strategy, Build the tools you need to achieve those goals, and provide content marketing and social media strategist to Work that tool. If you’re ready to build a website that works for you, give us a call.”
- When setting up your thumbnail (also called an avatar), remember that this is the primary image that will follow you as you use your page throughout Facebook. That means that your brand’s name or logo should feature prominently because it’s one of the first things people will see.
- Add a cover photo that is compelling and represents what you do. If you’re a retail outlet, make sure you have a hero shot of your store. If you build website, make sure you have a big, beautiful, tech savvy image.
If you have completed these four things, you’ve got a very complete Facebook profile that your potential customers will be able to access to see that, yes, in fact, they definitely want to do business with you!
